Above & Beyond Physical Therapy was created in 2002 shortly after Tom relocated from Naperville Illinois. His spark for Therapy started after going through treatment for a shoulder injury in college. He imagines a world where every person can work diligently to achieve their goals. He strives to provide an environment where people feel safe and secure to push their minds and their bodies in a healthy way. Tom feels honored to work in this field and loves connect with and help people advance towards their passions. He has committed his life and career to this dream. In his free time he cherishes his time with friends and family.

Josh Ryan, PTA Clinic Director

Josh has worked for Above & Beyond Physical Therapy since 2011. Since earning his degree from Pima Medical Institute, he’s been committed to carrying out personalized treatment plans that help patients regain mobility, strength, and independence. He loves spending time with his wife and three children, along with reading books about American history & Philosophy.

Brigit Ryan, PT, DPT DN-Cert

Queen Creek

Brigit received her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. She is passionate about fitness and getting her patients back to what they love doing best. When she isn’t busy being a Mom, she loves sitting down with her next read! Brigit is certified in Dry Needling for upper and lower body impairments, including the spine.

Taylor McKinney, PTA

Taylor has worked for Above & Beyond Physical Therapy since 2020. Since graduating from Pima Medical Institute, she has been committed to helping others with their healing journey. She brings a warmth and compassion to her work and hopes that everyone can have a safe and comfortable place for their recovery. In her free time she enjoys riding horses and spending time with family.

David Devine, PT, DPT

Glendale

David attended both Glendale Community College and Arizona State University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology. Following undergrad, David started working at Above and Beyond as a tech in 2019 up until he started Physical Therapy school in the fall of 2020. He graduated from Franklin Pierce University in 2023 and returned to Above and Beyond later that year. David has experience in a number of disciplines including orthopedics, neuro, geriatrics, sports, and pediatrics. He is passionate about helping people of all ages from all walks of life, overcome their pain so that they can live their life to the fullest.

Shelby Lough, PTA

Glendale

Shelby has been worked at Above & Beyond Physical Therapy since 2014. Since graduating from Pima Medical Institute, she has been committed to providing highest level of compassionate care helping people avoid injury and improve function. She also brings a warm energy and infectious. She enjoys hanging out with her family and work family. She is also a fearsome spike ball partner.

Ted Gifford, PT

Glendale

Ted has worked with Above & Beyond since 2009 and has been a stalwart of consistent excellence. He received his Masters in Physical Therapy in 1969 and has worked in a variety of orthopedic settings. His knowledge, energy and passion are an inspirational. He enjoys Westerns, horses and always backs his USC Trojans (as sometimes seen with is SC Nikes)
