If you find yourself in physical therapy, maybe you are already among those looking for health trends in 2020 to help you find healthier ways of living and being this year. If so, we have some good news for you. It’s time to dive into a few of the upcoming health trends that 2020 has in store.

Health Trends In 2020

Running

First things first, running. Now, this one does seem common yes. However, think for a second about how many people you see running daily. A few years back we saw in the headlines that running wasn’t good for you. This caused a decline in the number of people running, or signing up for running races. Running is making a comeback this year and those headlines haven’t proven to hold water. 2020 will be the year that new runners will take action and soar miles.

Take a stand

Sounds like a crazy health trend 2020 will bring, but if you’re pushing that brain, take a break. Sitting for long amounts of time? Get up and stretch. Walk around for a couple of minutes. Do a couple of toe touches. Studies are showing that we are not made to sit for long periods of time. Allowing the mind and body to rest for a few minutes is like hitting that refresh button on your computer.

Mindfulness

Also, health trends in 2020 include more wellness health. Looking up from phones more. Looking face to face to have a conversation. Maybe put the phone down. Talk to that person next to you on the bus, the office, the waiting room. You never know what kind of friends you’ll encounter. Being mindful in actions, choices, and health — even in the small things — can make a big difference.
