October is here and the smell of Pumpkin Spice Lattes are wafting through the air.  Not only is there room for celebrating the lower temperatures, but there is plenty of room to celebrate physical therapy.

Join Above & Beyond Physical Therapy in the celebration of National Physical Therapy Month to celebrate physical therapy and raise awareness of the roles within the field and their dedication to their patients by helping them decrease pain, improve mobility and engage in a healthy lifestyle.  

Here’s some quick background on National Physical Therapy Month:  

• Originally known as National Therapy Week, this event used to occur in June.
• The event was moved to October in 1992 in order to avoid conflict with the APTA’s annual conference and expo.
• The celebration expanded from one week to one month. We agree that a week is definitely not long enough to dedicate to this amazing field of workers!
• Each year there is a new theme.  Past themes have focused on may physical therapy specialties including posture, balance, fitness and obesity and sports injury prevention.
