Not all physical therapy is created equal. If you are dragging your feet on going because you don’t know what to expect at physical therapy or because the thought of showing up for three days a week for four weeks is too big of a commitment, we have some good news for you.

Typically when you think of physical therapy, you may think of reporting to an office for painful exercises several days a week for several weeks at a time. It can seem costly and scary if you don’t know what to expect at physical therapy and don’t know what you are getting into. We are here to reassure you that this does not always have to be the case.

Your Recovery Is Our Passion

Our team of physical therapists is passionate about helping you recover and that means partnering with you to find a program that works for you. Patients actively participating and taking a part in their rehabilitation have better outcomes. That is why we are committed to helping you find a program that works for you, your life and one that you, in turn, feel good about committing to.

What To Expect At Physical Therapy – Your First Appointment

When you first come to Above & Beyond Physical Therapy, you will meet with your physical therapist who will evaluate your condition and talk with you about potential courses of treatment. On your first visit, it is also likely that you will begin to receive some form of treatment based on the modalities chosen by you and your physical therapist after evaluation.

In-Office or Home Programs

From here, it may be decided that reporting back to our clinic is the best form of treatment. Or, it may be decided that a disciplined home program is best for your care. If a home program is selected, instead of reporting back several times a week, we will schedule periodic check-ins to monitor recovery and progress and to continue to educate or help you with activities of daily living. Either way, your physical therapist may also recommend additional forms of treatment such as ice therapy, electrical stimulation, massage or equipment.

Physical therapy is often chosen as a low-cost, non-invasive form of treatment for many conditions or as an alternative to surgery or prescription medications. Your physical therapist will work with you to address the underlying causes of your issues to create change in your body, as opposed to simply treating symptoms. When coupled with a program, either in-office or a home program, that works for you, chances of recovery for our patients greatly increases.

Begin your road to recovery by partnering with our trained physical therapists at Above & Beyond. We accept most insurances and as a courtesy to our patients, can assist you with finding what your insurance covers and begin developing a program that will help you on your road to recovery.
